We are happy to announce the release of Cesium 1.31. Highlights include

  • Added compressed texture support for glTF models and imagery layers.
  • Added support for Scene.pickPosition in Columbus view and 2D.
  • Added support for depth picking translucent primitives when Scene.pickTranslucentDepth is true.
  • Fixed an issue where the camera would zoom past an object and flip to the other side of the globe.
  • Added support for GroundPrimitive on browsers and hardware without the EXT_frag_depth extension.

  • FOSS4G, the Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial conference, will be August 14–19 in Boston. Proposals are due March 21.
  • TEDxPenn is on April 1 in Philadelphia. Rachel Hwang of the Cesium team will be speaking about 3D geospatial there.
  • GDC, the Game Developers Conference, is Feb 27–Mar 3 in San Francisco. Meet members of the Cesium team at the WebGL/WebVR/glTF meetup.
