The University Space Engineering Consortium (UNISEC) is a nonprofit organization that encourages college students in building practical space projects, such as small satellites. The community is made up of local chapters in 50 universities across the world, from Australia to Guatemala to Bangladesh.

Under the direction of Dr. Hidenori Watanave at Tokyo Metropolitan University, students in the Japan chapter of UNISEC created an archive to track these small, handmade satellites. The archive includes two globes: UNISEC Earth, which tracks the satellites in orbit, including a timeline slider to view their movements over a year, and CANSAT Mapping, with details about each satellite’s origin and purpose.
